Licensing & Security

Virto Shared Calendar App licenses are based on edit rights (paid) and read-only rights (free).

Key Licensing Details#

  • Edit Rights: Paid license required per user with editing capabilities (e.g., creating, modifying, or deleting events).
  • Read-Only Rights: Free access for users who only view calendars.
  • Only users with edit rights require a paid license. Read-only users do not need a license.
    • Example: For 10 users (2 editors + 8 viewers), 2 paid licenses are required (for editors). Viewers access the app at no cost.
  • Minimum Users: No minimum license requirement—supports single-user scenarios.

Usage Options#

Auto-Assignment Feature#

  • Default Activation: Unassigned purchased licenses are automatically allocated to users who attempt to edit events (if licenses are available).
  • Management: Disable auto-assignment via the Subscription tab under settings (gear icon).

Example Scenario:
A team of 15 users (5 editors + 10 viewers) requires 5 paid licenses (for editors). Editors can modify events, while viewers access calendars in read-only mode at no cost. Licenses are auto-assigned to editors unless disabled in settings.
