## What are Calendar Views and Data Sources?

1. What are Calendar Views and Data Sources?
2. Access the calendar navigation menu to explore available calendars
3. Here you can see the list of available calendars
4. These are customized views of your calendars. Each view can include calendars from different data sources. Here the sources are: "Birthdays", "Calendar", "College", "United Kingdom holidays". — You can toggle sources on and off by clicking them to change the calendar view.
5. What is included in each calendar view? — Each calendar view is made up of different data sources. — Enter Settings to customise data sources.
6. What data sources are available? — When creating a calendar view, you can use various data sources: — 1. SharePoint lists
7. In a separate tab you can see all the available SharePoint lists.
8. Outlook calendars (your personal Outlook calendar)
9. Shared calendars (private calendars shared with you)
10. Group calendars (available in Outlook)
11. This is where you can find your Outlook group calendars
12. Resource calendars (created in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under “Resources → Rooms &amp; Equipment”)

14. Microsoft Planner tasks (tasks that include both start and due dates can be displayed in the calendar)

## Which Data Sources to choose if you want to create a Shared Calendar?

1. How to create a Shared Calendar for your team
2. If your team needs a shared calendar, you have two options: — Calendar from a SharePoint data source
3. You can choose it either from an existing SharePoint lists, or create a new SharePoint data source
4. This is the easiest shared calendar to set up, but it doesn't include any built‑in alerts for event changes. — However, such alerts can be configured using the Virto Alerts &amp; Reminders app.
5. Group calendars – suitable for departments or long-term planning. You can also receive notifications of any changes via email.
6. To create a group calendar, go to Outlook and create a new group. A calendar will be created for it automatically.
7. Click the "Calendar" icon to see your group calendar.
8. To show your Outlook group calendar, go to settings and click "Display events from user's Exchange Online Group Calendar". — The second way is described here &gt;&gt;&gt;

## Permissions in Virto Calendar App

1. Permissions in Virto Calendar App
2. Open Settings to configure permissions.
3. Navigate to Permission controls where you define who can access what.
4. Here, you will find three categories of permission settings: — tenant — current site — user permissions.
5. Check the first box in the first set in case you wish to make calendars and data sources accessible on the particular site collection where they were created.
6. Next, check the corresponding box if, in the current site, you want to show calendars and sources from this site only.
7. To select users who can edit a Virto calendar, type their name, surname, or email and click “ + ” to add them to the list of allowed users.
8. You can assign users the roles of Calendar Manager or License Manager. — License managers can assign calendar managers, while calendar managers can edit calendar and data source settings on the current site collection

1. Use Case: Department Calendar
2. For instance, your organization might include several departments, such as Marketing, HR, etc.
3. You can create different calendar and calendar views for each department (and even more—there’s no limit).
4. Each calendar view can have its own settings: scale (work week, month, etc.), calendar sources, category colors, date format, time scale, week start day, working hours, and more.
5. Toggle display settings to show the information in a way that suits your team.
6. Once the calendar views are created, you can view them across your organization’s teams—in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or through a browser.
